Many public services in the county are provided by a number of different organisations working together. Below are details about some of the main partnerships in Worcestershire:
Worcestershire Substance Misuse Action Team (W:SMAT)
W:SMAT covers the whole of the county and is responsible for
reducing the harm of drug and alcohol misuse for individuals, families and communities within Worcestershire.
It is a partnership of agencies in the area, including Worcestershire County Council, Community Safety
Partnerships, NHS agencies and the police.

Safety Camera Partnership (West Mercia)
This is a partnership of public sector
agencies who are involved and/or have a direct interest in casualty reduction and road safety. Its purpose
is for those agencies to work together in order to achieve their shared aims, as it is more efficient
and effective to do this together than separately.

Youth Offending Service (Worcestershire and Herefordshire)
The Youth Offending
Service is a multi-agency partnership formed as a statutory requirement by the Crime and Disorder Act
1998. All local authorities with responsibility for education and social services were required to form
such partnerships and Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire Council decided to form a youth
offending service together.

Worcestershire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust
The trust aims to provide, develop
and lead effective mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services in the community
in partnership with Primary Care Trusts and other agencies.

Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Board (WSCB)
The WSCB consists of senior representatives of the main agencies that have a responsibility to safeguard children. It is a forum for establishing and guiding the services in Worcestershire to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children. Agencies represented on the board, include: Worcestershire County Council’s Children’s Services Directorate; local Primary Care Trusts (PCT); district councils; Learning and Skills Council, the police and NSPCC.
Worcestershire Arts Marketing
Worcestershire Arts Marketing (WAM) is a partnership project
funded by Worcestershire County Council, the Arts Council of England, Worcestershire Sub Regional Partnership
in association with Worcestershire Arts Forum (WAF). WAM provides strategic and tactical arts marketing
services to arts organisations in the county.

Destination Worcestershire
This partnership involves all seven local authorities working jointly to promote and develop tourism in the county under the banner of Destination Worcestershire. West Mercia Local Resilience Forum (LRF)
The LRF is a multi-agency group comprising bodies within West Mercia, such as local authorities, national and local health agencies, the three emergency services and the Environmental Agency.
Its purpose is to ensure effective
delivery of the duties of the Civil Contingencies Act. This requires the partner agencies to co-ordinate
resources to they can respond effectively when incidents occur to ensure West Mercia remains a safe
place.
