4th-25th October
'A Modern Melody of Media Culture' - Charlotte Combe This is a link to a PDF file. (403.45 KB)
An exhibition on global and cultural issues in the modern world of media.  Also including images influenced by contemporary writers and fairy tales.
31st October - 28th November
'Travelling with a Pen - Kenneth Mottram
6th December - 3rd January 2009
'Frank Freemans Revisted' - Colin Hill
Photographs from 1968/1969 of some of the famous groups that played at the Frank Freeman Dance Club.

CRAFT CASES

2nd-31st October
Serendipity Handcrafted Greetings Cards and Gift Boxes
Handcrafted greetings cards, gift boxes, scarves and notebooks.
4th-29th November
Jewellery - Georgina Franklin
Handmade silver and gold jewellery with semi precious stones, beads and pearls.
3rd December - 4th January 2009
Jean Cox Jewellery
Handcrafted jewellery made from sterling and fine silver, semi-precious stones and handmade beads made by the artist and selected students.

Midland Gershwin Mayerl Society Concert
The Acceptable Face of the 20th Century with Pianist Mike Smith.  Music by Poulenc, Janacek, Mayerl, Arndt, Shostakouich and Chris Edmunds.
Tickets £6 from Kidderminster Library.
Thursday 13th November - 7.30 pm
Simon Deeley Trio Concert
Jazz concert by the Simon Deeley Trio.
Tickets £7/concessions £6 from Kidderminster Library.
Friday 28th November - 7.30 pm
Kidderminster Classical Music Society
Programme to be announced.
Tickets £8 members £6 from Kidderminster Library.
Thursday 11th December- 7.30 pm

WYRE FOREST FILM CLUB
Wyre Forest Film Club continues to bring cinema to the area with a ten week series from 30th January. Screenings will be on Tuesdays at 7.30pm (doors open 7.00pm) Please pick up a detailed programme from the Library or telephone Jes Hamblett 01562 824500

READERS GROUP
Kidderminster Library Readers Group is an informal gathering which meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm.  A detailed leaflet is available from the Library or ring  on 01562 824500

ARTS MAILING LIST
To help us keep you informed about arts events and initiatives, Worcestershire County Council and all six District Councils in the county have joined forces to provide a new Arts Mailing List.  The sevice is designed to cater for all interests, from occasional visitors to professional artists and performers.  For further details and to register pick up a registration form from the Library

EXHIBITING AT KIDDERMINSTER LIBRARY.
If you are an artist / craftsperson / organisation and you are interested in exhibiting your work in the Library please apply in writing to Kidderminster Library clearly marking the envelope 'Art Application'.  Your application should include:

  Your preference for exhibition space eg. gallery, craft cases, foyer etc.
  A letter of explanation briefly describing the title, theme, medium, number and sizes of work and any preference  for  dates      A brief paragraph about you / your organisation
  A selection of photographs of the work  (please include a stamped addressed envelope for     their  return).
