Opened by the Princess Royal in July 1997 Worcestershire's "flagship" library offers an unrivalled range of services:

  • Adult and young people's lending books
  • Reference and information service including Internet access
  • Local studies research collections
  • Video, D.V.D. and sound recording loan collections
  • Play group loan collections
  • Art exhibitions programme
  • Craft and information displays
  • Children's storytimes and competitions. Story-time, for 3-5 year olds, is held during term-time on Thursday mornings between 10.30 - 11.00am. Everyone welcome
  • Music and literary events
  • Meeting rooms for hire
  • Coffee morning (every Thursday), jig-saw swaps and readers group
  • Housebound Readers' Service
  • Services to Residential Accommodation
  • A small collection of books in Bengali, Gujerati, Hindi and Urdu.

Performances and exhibitions

are regularly held in the Gallery on the second floor and displays of high quality local and regional crafts can be found in the craft cases on both the ground and the first floor. An exhibition/performance programme detailing current and future performances is available for you to view.

Kidderminster Library Readers Group meet once a month for an informal gathering to talk about a particular book they have read. The group decides its own programme and takes the opportunity to include authors and books that people haven't tried before, as well as old favourites.

Membership is free. Just come along to the meetings when you can. Meetings take place usually on one Tuesday in the month, in the Library at 7.30pm. Free refreshments are included. New members always welcome. For more information please contact the Kidderminster Librarian on (01562) 824500.

Jig-Saw Swaps

are held in the Library on the 1st Thursday of every month. If you enjoy doing jigsaws and would like to swap them for others, then this is for you. Just bring in a sealed puzzle of your own, in good condition with no pieces missing and choose another from our wide selection on offer. Childrens Events

are held in the Library on a regular basis, for further information please contact a member of staff at the library or view our children's activities programme online.
